Acre Mill – Huddersfield – March 2013
Formerly owned by Joseph Sykes & Sons and now owned by the NHS
Info taken from the Huddersfield Examiner.SEVERAL services are to be moved out of Huddersfield Royal Infirmary to free up space for more beds inside the hospital. Most of the outpatient services will be moving to nearby Acre Mill along with antenatal services and back room offices. The concern is the hospital will run short of beds as the ageing population rises and hospital bosses say the move would mean they could run a more “efficient and effective” service. The plans were revealed at a Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Trust board meeting yesterday.

New York City is one of my favorite places in the world. I love the history, architecture, people, and the attitude. You can find anything or anyone there. It is magical.
Michael Bradley – Time Traveler is a favorite blog of mine. Check out his post on Secret New York Locations. It’s got my wheels turning and I’m bursting with stories to fill these places with.
My favorite thing he highlights is the Underbelly Project. A “secret” gallery in an abandoned subway station filled with over 100 pieces street art. One day I want to be as brave as these artists. Make something for the love of art. Do something for ourselves and jealously guard the secret only a special few are privy to.
I love a bit of urban exploration and I can’t believe there is a abandoned building not a 15 minute walk from my house which I did not know about. There’s not much there in terms of, well anything oddly. Not that much graffiti, litter or objects of interest!
